Why are your bowls elevated?
Floor-level bowls force cats to crane their necks downward while eating, which strains the neck and spine and can slow digestion or cause regurgitation. Our raised pedestal brings food to a natural height, so your cat eats in a comfortable, upright posture.
What is whisker fatigue?
Cat whiskers are packed with nerve endings. In deep, narrow bowls, whiskers brush the walls with every bite, causing constant overstimulation. Cats respond by pawing food out, leaving meals unfinished, or showing stress at feeding time. Every House of Boro & Bambi bowl is wide and shallow, so nothing ever touches their whiskers.
Are your bowls food-safe?
Yes. Each bowl is made from food-safe, high-fired ceramic with a lead-free, non-toxic glaze, made to be eaten off every day. Unlike scratched plastic, the non-porous surface won't harbour the bacteria linked to feline chin acne.
What size are the bowls? Will one suit my cat?
Our bowls are wide and shallow (roughly 13–17cm across, depending on the design) and sized for the average adult cat to eat comfortably without whisker contact. Exact dimensions and weight are listed on each product page.
Can I use the bowl for water?
They're designed primarily for food, wet, dry, or treats. The shallow plate isn't ideal for water; a deeper vessel works better for that.
How do I clean the bowl?
Hand washing with mild dish soap is best and protects the hand-painted detail. The bowls are also dishwasher-friendly. Avoid sudden temperature shocks, like moving the bowl straight from the fridge into hot water.
Will it slide around while my cat eats?
No. The weighted ceramic body stays put, unlike lightweight plastic or steel bowls.
Every bowl looks slightly different. Is that normal?
Yes, and it's part of the charm. Each bowl is hand-assembled and hand-painted, so small variations in glaze and artwork make every piece one of a kind.

Yes, we ship pan-India and shipping is free. Each bowl is packed in protective packaging designed specifically for ceramic.
What if my bowl arrives broken?
Film a continuous unboxing video as you open your parcel, from the sealed package through to the bowl unwrapped. If it shows the piece arrived broken, email us the video within 12 hours of delivery and we'll send a free replacement. An unboxing video showing the damage is required to process a breakage claim.
